Cole Palmer: The youngster who set new EPL record with his first half goals

Chelsea winger Cole Palmer set a new record in the Premier League with his performance against Brighton on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

The former Man City emerged as the first player in Premier League history to score four first-half goals.

The Blues could have scored more bu went defensive after to ensure no chance of rest.

Palmer cashed in on the Seagulls’ spectacular naivety off the ball with two counterattacks, a penalty and spectacular long-range free kick in the space of 20 minutes.

The winger could have scored more goals as he was also denied  by the tight offside call.

In the second half, Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke made several good chances to put the scoreline beyond doubt, while Cucurella had a goal cancelled for offside.

Brighton, on their part, kept pressing only to find Chelsea’s defence to be less charitable after the wins in the opening 45 minutes.

Chelsea remains seated in the top four on the league table, with Palmer being considered their most impressive player to far.

Recall that Palmer who moved to Stamford Bridge from Man City was also impressive last season and his fast becoming the Blues talisman like former Chelsea player Eden Hazard.
