MANCHESTER UNITED PREPARE £46M BID FOR IN-FORM ATTACKER
Manchester United’s new ownership are looking at the January transfer window to solve their issues in front of goal.
After spending £179m on arrivals in the summer, Manchester United’s new ownership are already planning for future transfer windows.
United sit 14th in the Premier League table with seven points, and are winless in four games.
Despite the addition of strikers Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund in the last two summer windows, United have scored the second fewest goals in the league this season (5).
Thus, the board are looking at the January transfer window to solve their issues in front of goal.
United are set to bid £46m for AC Milan star Christian Pulisic, according to Milan Live.
The winger has rediscovered his form after a tough four years at Chelsea and is already being linked to other Premier League clubs like Liverpool.
Whether the USMNT star is willing to join United or if Milan would consider offers for him is currently unknown.
Pulisic has scored five goals and contributed two assists in eight games this season.
He has mainly operated from the right-wing for Milan but has also shown that he is comfortable on the left and through the middle as a number 10.
Transfermarkt value Pulisic at around £33m, over £10m less than what United are willing to pay.
Milan only spent £18.8m on him in 2023 but Chelsea have a significant sell-on clause if Pulisic departs.
For this reason, the Serie A giants would likely be stubborn in their negotiations with United, who are especially known for overspending on transfers.
For now, Milan are happy with Pulisic’s progression and believe he will be a key player this season, according to manager Paulo Fonseca.
“Christian is fantastic. His quality is incredible, he will be very important this season too”, Fonseca said.
However, if Pulisic is available in the future, United may look to give the American a second chance in the Premier League.
